Iranian female artists’ works exhibited in Malaysia
Press TV -(Mar 10, 2013) A number of paintings created by some Iranian women artists have been showcased in an international exhibition held in the Malaysian capital city,Kuala Lumpur.
Organized by Kuala Lumpur’s Artmalaysia Gallery, the exhibition titled My Day was held at the gallery to commemorate International Women’s Day.
Sakineh Zamani, Zahra Afzali, Fatemeh Mofarahi, Atusa Zolqadri, Mahjubeh Famori, Gelareh Lavaei, Mina Hedayat and Elnaz Rostami are among the Iranian representatives.
About 46 female artists from the Netherlands, Taiwan, South Africa, China, Denmark, Iran, Iraq and South Africa participated in the exhibition.
The four-day event was dedicated to female artists in the world to celebrate “the significant contributions of women to today’s lives through the power of art, as a picture easily speaks a thousand words.”
International Women’s Day (IWD), originally known as International Working Women’s Day, is annually marked on March 8.
