Salehi stresses key German role in resolving Iran nuclear case
IRNA - (Feb 6, 2013) Berlin, Feb 6, IRNA – Germany can play a key and active role in settling the Iranian nuclear issue , Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said in an exclusive interview with IRNA in Berlin.
Germany can play a more effective role within the P5 plus 1 group in resolving the Iran nuclear standoff since it enjoys good ties with
us as well as the other European countries and the US, Salehi reiterated.
He urged Berlin to adopt a more active role in solving the issue. Pointing to his latest talks with German Foreign Minister Guido
Westerwelle on the sidelines of the 49th Munich Security Conference,
Salehi said it was his impression that the stance and behavior of German officials, especially Westerwelle, were rational and realistic.
He made clear Iran’s bilateral ties with Germany were among the best in Europe.
Salehi voiced hope that ultimately the misunderstanding over Iran’s nuclear program could be resolved.
