Explanation of Vote of the Delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran
On Draft Resolution:
“Strengthening of security and cooperation in the Mediterranean region”
At the 67th Session of the First Committee

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Mr. Chairman,
My delegation will not participate in taking action by the Committee on draft resolution entitled: “Strengthening of security and cooperation in the Mediterranean region” contained in document A/C.1/67/L.6.
Given the continued crisis in the occupied territories of Palestine and the imposition by Zionist regime of the severest blockade, including from the Mediterranean part, on the people of Gaza, this draft resolution has not factually reflected the situation in the occupied territory and therefore is far from the reality in the region.
