The Occasion of the 31st Anniversary

of the Islamic Revolution in Iran

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

On 11 February 2010, the world witnessed, once again, the demonstration of millions of Iranians who enthusiastically commemorated the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. This unprecedented turnout was, indeed, another referendum which manifested the solidarity of the great Iranian nation in supporting the principles and ideals of its Islamic Revolution, its national unity and territorial integrity as well as its aspirations for socio-political and economic and technological development, particularly its efforts to exercise its right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, despite all unjust pressures.

The massive demonstration which took place in Iran on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran highlighted the unity of the Iranian people and their resolve in pursuing the revolution’s lofty goals. The Iranian nation demonstrated its determination to safeguard its independence, freedom and the Islamic Republic as the true fruits of the Islamic Revolution, and to continue its progress in all aspects of life. The Iranian people utilized the 31st anniversary of its Islamic Revolution to remind the world of its message of peace, justice, human dignity and mutual respect at home and abroad. Iran persists in calling for sustainable peace and stability in the region, free from war, aggression, occupation and foreign intervention.

Thirty first years since the Islamic Revolution of 1979 in Iran led by the late Imam Khomeini (R.A) the nation feels stronger ever and as resolved to defend the legacy of the Revolution. This is all the more important as the Islamic Republic of Iran has endured all sorts of challenges masterminded by certain domineering powers, including 8 years of imposed war, terrorist acts which claimed the lives of thousands of innocent civilians and officials, economic sanctions as well as poisonous interferences in our internal affairs and psychological warfare which continues up to now.

The 11 February 2010 marches all around Iran were an undeniable showcase of unity and solidarity of our nation in the face of certain powers’ continuous vicious campaign against Iran, and displayed highest public support for the Islamic Republic of Iran to defend the nation’s high interests. It also provided an opportunity for certain powers to correct their attitudes toward Iran by grasping the true picture of Iran free from misinformation and distortions campaigned by certain circles and mass media.

A strong Iran, in a geo-strategic region rampaged by imposed conflicts and crises, is indeed an asset for the world which needs to be appreciated. This entails a realistic and pragmatic approach on the part of all actors to recognize the valuable potentials of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its willingness to harness all possibilities for the cause of peace and cooperation. Nonetheless, as it has been proven for the past three decades, the Islamic Republic of Iran is resolute in defending the rights and interests of its nation and will never bow to unjust pressures and intimidations. “Friends and enemies of the Iranian nation should know that this nation has found its way and has taken its decision to reach the peak of development and welfare, and overcomes any obstacle which comes on its path”, as the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei signified in his message to the nation on 11 February 2010.
